Local Government Resource Review

The report gave details of the work of the Local Government Resource Review and of two consultation papers issued by the Local Government Association (LGA) with regard to the Review. These sought views on the principle of reform of the local government finance system and, more specifically, on local retention of business rates. Consideration was given to a suggested response to the LGA's consultation papers.
The Cabinet resolved that the draft response set out at Annex 3 to the report be approved and the Director of Finance be authorised to respond accordingly to the Local Government Association.
